Description: A virtual car showroom where you can change the color, wheels, and model of a car with interactive throwing (think Ready Player One)

VR Car Showroom

Screenshot of a car on a pedestal, with highlighted wheels when the user points their VR controller at it. You can see the other model cars on their tiny pedestal at the desk nearby.

This experience puts users and car shoppers in a one-of-a-kind car shopping experience. Not only can you view different cars, but you can also see different paints at a 1:1 scale in different environments. It is an experience you can only have in Virtual Reality and I truly believe it improves the real car shopping experience.

Neat Stuff
You can switch between cars by grabbing the toy model and throwing it towards the pedestal
The Car and its changes persist between environment changes that give you different lighting and context on the vehicle
We have a "robot" salesperson that reacts to your browsing and some interactions when changing cars and environments. You can imagine this as a chatbot and then have a "real" salesperson visit them in VR to answer harder questions about the car
We have day/night cycles for the environments that can be toggled with contextual objects like an alarm clock or sundial
Room For Improvement
We didn't reach our stretch features of having a "checkout" cart where the user would deposit the toy car and it is transposed to JSON data and open a webpage
We wanted to have more car facts and able to choose between car trims, but we didn't have those types of assets. We instead went for different era style cars
There are a handful of environmental objects around that we'd like to add interactivity to. Imagine picking up trippy shader lenses in the steampunk world
We wanted to be able to drive the car eventually, even in the space station we'd have the vehicle launch
